Thousands Experiencing Electricity in Queensland and Victorian Regions Following Powerful Weather Systems
Approximately twenty-five thousand households in Queensland's southeast were left experiencing outages on Monday's dawn after severe thunderstorms passed over the area, generating strong winds reaching over 100 km/h.
Massive Frozen Precipitation and Extensive Damage
Residents reported giant hailstones reaching sizes of 7cm in particular locations. Weather authorities confirmed that multiple regions across the state had been hit with large hailstones.

Response teams were attempting to repair energy supply throughout the impacted areas, with dozens of response units working to handle the numerous electricity disruptions.
Victorian Weather Woes
At the same time, around one thousand energy customers in Victoria also experienced electricity disruptions after the capital city experienced its heaviest rainfall in 18 months.
Rescue organizations received over five hundred requests for assistance across the state, primarily for property damage but also for downed trees and inundation.

During the peak on Sunday, in excess of 28,000 electricity consumers in the state were without power.
Weather Forecast
Moist weather were forecast to persist along significant areas of Queensland's east this next several days as a low-pressure trough continued to draw in moisture against the coastal areas.
Tuesday was expected to become the wettest day, with continued thunderstorm potential expected across multiple regions of both regions.
Medical Alert
Health officials cautioned that there was an greater possibility of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the northern rural areas, particularly given the existing atmospheric conditions.
This caution comes after previous incidents where similar conditions led to substantial respiratory problems in the area.
